Who we are
This policy explains how Hedgehog Software LLC ("we", "us"), 30 N. Gould St. Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, the company that operates Predict Match Day, collects and uses personal data as the data controller for the service. Privacy and data requests: hello@predictmatchday.com. This policy applies to the website, the game and related communications.
Data we collect
Account data such as email address, username and avatar, managed through our authentication provider Clerk. Game data such as predictions, points, achievements, coin balance and transactions, power up usage and league memberships. Content you post in league feeds. Purchase records processed by Stripe; we never store full card numbers. Support messages you send us. Technical data such as IP address, device and browser information, language preference, request identifiers and usage events. Diagnostic and error data collected by our error monitoring tools to keep the service reliable.
How we use data
We use data to operate the game, calculate scores and leaderboards, manage leagues and licenses, process payments, send service messages and reminders you have enabled, provide support, prevent fraud, cheating and abuse, comply with legal obligations and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.
Legal bases
Where EU or UK data protection law applies, we process data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests such as security, abuse prevention and product improvement, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where required, which you may withdraw at any time.
Sharing and processors
We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions: Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, our hosting providers, our self hosted analytics, and error monitoring (GlitchTip or compatible tools). We may use operational notification channels such as Discord webhooks for internal alerts that can include limited account or ticket metadata. We may disclose data when required by law, to protect our rights, users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or asset sale. We do not sell personal data and we do not share personal data for cross context behavioral advertising.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and data is processed there and in the countries where our processors operate. Where data is transferred from the EU, UK or similar jurisdictions, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses implemented by us or our processors.
Public information
Your username, avatar, achievements, points and leaderboard positions are visible to other users and may appear on public pages. Content you post in a league is visible to that league. Public match pages show aggregate prediction distributions that do not identify you.
Retention
We keep personal data while your account is active. Payment, coin ledger and transaction records are retained as required for accounting, tax and fraud prevention purposes. When you delete your account we delete or anonymize personal data, except records we must keep by law and aggregate data that no longer identifies you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. EU and UK residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. California and certain other US state residents may have additional rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of certain sharing; we do not sell personal information as that term is commonly defined under those laws. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and reliance on audited providers for authentication and payments. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data we will notify you and the authorities where the law requires it.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and users must be at least 13 years old, or older where local law sets a higher age for consenting to data processing. Purchases require the age of majority. If we learn that we hold data of a child below the applicable age without valid consent, we will delete it.
Cookies and changes
We use essential cookies for sign in and preferences. Our analytics run on our own infrastructure, are used in aggregate and do not build advertising profiles; we do not use third party advertising cookies. You can control cookies in your browser, though the service may not work without essential ones. We may update this policy and will post the new version here with its effective date.
